Yangon – Bagan – Mandalay – Inle Lake – Yangon

Stretches of palms across the Central Myanmar Plain and pine-clad hillocks of Shan Plateau could be aptly coined as yin and yang of Myanmar topography. Traveling amidst these environs gives true sense of being one with nature and sheer delights.

Day 1:

  • Arrival Yangon by morning flight.
  • Welcoming at airport and transfer to hotel. Sightseeing the highlights of Yangon. Shwedagon Pagoda and National Museum will give a brief image of Myanmar.
  • Overnight at Yangon.

Day 2:

  • Yangon to Bagan by morning flight.
  • Welcoming at Bagan Airport and transfer to hotel. On the way to hotel sightseeing at Nyaung-Oo Market, Shwe-zi-gon Pagoda, an exquisite feature of Myanmar stupa built on sandstones; Kyan-sit-thar U-min, a tunnel with fine intricate paintings; Wet-kyi-in Gu-byuk-kyi Temple with ancient mural paintings of Jartaka scenes. Check in and refreshment at hotel.
  • Continue sightseeing Archeological Museum; Ananda Temple, a temple of massive and finest brick works. That-byin-nyu Temple, rising to a height of 201 feet above the ground overlooking other monuments around; Bu-pa-ya close to Ayeyarwaddy river and a fine place to enjoy sunset view.
  • Overnight at Bagan.

Day 3:

  • After breakfast, set out a 45 minutes drive to Mount Popa, Oasis of the dry zone.
  • Observe the Myanmar traditional pilgrimage spot at the base of Popa Taung-ka-lat: hut-shops-mall where local produce are displayed, food stalls and religious paraphernalia. It is kaleidoscopic view of Myanmar cultural images in display.
  • Faith of Buddhism as emerged along with local deities, believed to be protectors of Buddhism and of course the worshippers. The place is very colorful, highly animated and distinctly Burmese.
  • To visit palm tree farm of local village, on the way back to Bagan.
  • Lunch at Bagan.
  • Continue sightseeing at Bagan. Law-ka-nan-da Temple and Lacquer ware shop.
  • Overnight at Bagan.

Day 4:

  • Bagan to Mandalay by domestic fight.
  • Welcoming at Mandalay airport. Visit Ava (Innwa), U-Bein Bridge, Amarapura and Maha Gandayon Monastery on the way to hotel. These tour sites of ancient cities are closer to airport than to City. Check-in at hotel and continue sightseeing Mandalay, Ku-tho-daw Pagoda, Shwe-Kyaung, Atu-mashi and visit Mandalay Hill to enjoy sunset view of Mandalay Plain, River Irrawaddy and Sagaing Hills beyond.
  • Overnight at Mandalay.

Day 5:

  • Take a sightseeing trip to Sagaing. Tour around Sagaing Hill.
  • Climb up to a Pon-nya-shin Pagoda of Sagaing Hills by car, visit numerous pagodas and monasteries on the hills, a retreat for Buddhist devotees.
  • Visit Hsinmyashin Paya, and a few kilometers north are a couple of silver smith factory and shops.
  • After that, visit to Kaungmudaw Pagoda.
  • Lunch at Sagaing.
  • Transfer to jetty, set out to Ava by ferry boat.
  • Take a horse cart to visit the left-over buildings of the Ava period including Bagayar Monastery, a huge teak wood structure.
  • ‘Maha Aung-mye Bonzan’ Me-Nu brick Monastery.
  • Proceed to Amarapura and to enjoy the sun set view at U Bein Bridge.
  • Overnight at Mandalay.

Day 6:

  • Mandalay to Heho by domestic flight.
  • Welcoming at the airport and proceed to Pindaya by car, visit Pindaya caves, traditional Shan Paper-Making Bamboo Umbrella and Bamboo Hat Making Workshops.
  • The journey continues on a narrow, winding and bumpy road through the Shan Hills to Inle Lake.
  • Overnight at Inle Lake.

Day 7:

  • After breakfast, full day sightseeing of Inle Lake. Tour highlights include 5 day rotation Market at one of the village;
  • Intha Natives’ Method Of Fishing; Gold and Silver Smith Workshop at Ywama Village; Cheroot and Boat Making Workshops in Nan Pan Village. Continue visit to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda.
  • Afternoon, visit Shan Shoulder Bag Weaving Center; Floating Garden and Nga Phe Chaung Monastery, better known as “Jumping Cat Monastery.
  • Overnight at Inle Lake.

Day 8:

  • Sightseeing Ancient Pagoda Complex of Indein, and floating village for excursion as well as enjoyment of natural scenic beauties.
  • Overnight at Inle Lake.

Day 9:

  • Heho to Yangon by flight.
  • Welcoming at the airport and transfer to hotel. On the way visit Kaba-Aye (World Peace) Pagoda dedicated to the cause of world peace, Maha Pasana Guha Cave; where sixth Buddhist council was held and Buddhist Art Museum are in same compound and Gem Museum.
  • Overnight at Yangon.

Day 10:

  • After breakfast transfer to Yangon International Airport for departure Yangon by flight.
