Can’t you ‘ear their paddles chunkin’ from Rangoon to Mandalay ?

          Where the flyin’-fishes play,
An’ the dawn comes up like thunder outer China ‘crost the Bay!   [Poem “Mandalay” by Rudyard Kipling, 1892.]
